I'm always so amazed by how much you get done! Your hourly Comics Day is a good example - what a full and wonderful day! Sorry to hear about the diesel spill and the violin class
Your British Library stuff is always so cool!! (AND...a seal rescue?!?!?)
I'm sorry about your lovely river's recent woes. Hugs!
Free-form wood carving sounds lovely!! Or something for your studio or for book events? Maybe a nice picture frame? A business card holder? Whatever you make will be delightful!
Have so much fun during World Book Week! Lucky kids!
I love your newsletters Jane! You pack so much creativity into each month! I’m excited to see what you choose as your woodworking project, maybe an ideas box with purfling? Or fabulous, eye-balled pencil storage?
Such a wonderful update Jane, filled with happy book events and creativity you’ve been up to! As for quitting your violin, it may be you just need a long breather. With fresh eyes you can always com back around to it at a later date. If at all. It’s your choice. 💕
Quitting is an under-rated, liberating choice in life! Well done!
As starting/finishing things gets a lot of limelight- to redress this cultural imbalance when my partner decided to quit their job we had a quit-nic-picnic with friends on a summers evening and everyone told a story of something they’d quit- I cried laughing at some of the stories.
I really do feel liberated by it! I love the idea of a quit-nic-picnic, might have to recreate that once spring gets going... we're all trained to feel terribly guilty for giving up, but sometimes it makes much more sense than ploughing on miserably. And a summer evening picnic is a great way to celebrate!
Thank you for mentioning our campaign, Jane! Also, I can so relate about quitting. I quit classic ballet I had done for 15 years and it was a hard decision, but it was exactly the “knowing when to quit”situation. And it opened up a door to move to the UK and the rest is history. You’re a busy lady anyway! Looking forward to reading your new adventures. x
Enjoyed your update but so sad your fiddle will never be finished. I hope you find a rewarding new project that you can make via eyeballing! Thanks for the shout-out too!
Sadly all I have to show for it is a little pile of wonky wood… and memories of fun times in the workshop! Definitely makes sense to put fiddle-related time into actually improving my playing, which dare I say is actually finally starting to happen! 🎻🎻🎻

Something had to go! I am trying to learn to say no to a few more things - the trouble is when a new project comes along I can never resist!
I know the feeling - there are so many exciting things out there to try!

Thanks so much Elayne - I’ll keep you posted on the woodcarving, maybe I should carve a seal to commemorate my rescue! 😂

Well you never know....in the meantime I am going to focus on getting better at actually playing the fiddle - that's the real drream!
I love these updates! And what a fab day you had on hourly comic day too!
Thankyou Bonnie! And yes Feb 1st was an exceptionally nice day!

You are an example to me! I have badly neglected my ukulele!
Get it out and let’s jam!! ❤️
