Ah those first corner blocks really are a challenge! I don't know any violin maker who hasn't had the "why am I doing this" thoughts at some stage. Stick with it, it'll be worth it when you have your own violin to play!
This has made me want to get my sewing machine out and dig those Cyanotype bottles out from the back of the cupboard! And loved your video showing the process of Mable - fascinating!
Dig them out! I'd love to see what you do with them - making cyanotypes is like magic, I'm going to have to order some more chemicals because I keep spotting natural objects that would work really well. So glad you enjoyed the video too!
Yes, I need to! It’s getting myself organised for the prep bit that delays me. I have a card with an amazing Cyanotype of a dandelion clock (not made by me) but I don’t know how they managed to capture the fragile nature of it. It’s beautiful though!
Ooh that sounds lovely! I suspect they will have laid a sheet of glass on top before exposing to the sun so that it was gently flattened - worry a try?
The stencils are definitely worth a visit! The museum is packed with wonders - will have to share Jimmy Strength, the slightly scary fiddle player, next... that's real Berwick seaweed in those cushions, and I'm going for some Berwick Cockle stripes in the quilt, can you guess the theme??!
Your quilted pillows are wonderful Jane. And your process quilting/sewing sketches to go along with them. 💞
Thankyou Maggie! 🥰🥰
Now you’re motivating me to get back to my quilting again...☺️
Ooh good, looking forward to seeing the results of that! 😊👍
Julia and I both love those beautiful stencils! Thanks for sharing
Don’t they feel fresh for something 300 years old!
wow, the collage quilt pillows are lovely, Jane!
Aw thanks Denise! ❤️
Well, this was so fun and lovely -- I love the peek(s) into your process! And how much you have going on.
Aw thankyou so much Sarah!
Can’t wait to read Mabel! Bring on June! And your cushions look so funky and I love them!
Thankyou Momoko! I've got a serious cushion compulsion these days...

Oh that is reassuring to hear! Thankyou for the words of encouragement - back to my blocks tomorrow, hoping for a breakthrough...

Those smoky images! I have heard about them but never seen them! Loving your seaweed cushions.
