Ha ha it’s been the ‘low point’ episode in the fiddle making story - probably the first of many! I met some nice luthiers in Scotland who were very encouraging though. ❤️🎻🥰
Swapping squiggled is a favorite drawing prompt of ours with the littles. They love it and when asked it’s their go to before settling down into drawing other things. And they especially like it when the parents play along. Your newsletters are so full of goodness and inspiration Jane! 💕
I could play that game all day and not get bored! And you’re absolutely right, it’s so special when parents (or any adults) join in. Thankyou for your lovely appreciative comments Maggie!
What a good idea to combine cyanotypes with quilting - can't wait to see what you get up to with that. Well done for battling on with the precision of your violin blocks. (And finding a creative use for the ones in your pencil case!) x
Always SO inspiring to see what your up too Jane - and all the ways you inspire others too! But gosh - playing violins in that crowd - a whole new definition of no elbow room in contrast to the space in that stunning landscape - Glen Lyon!
I should have taken my fiddle outside and played it to those frisky horses - hoping they wouldn’t be as mean as those Irish donkeys were 😂. The session was astounding and probably twice as many people as I managed to draw! 🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻🎻
I love reading about your great-grandpa's fiddle. There's something about things passed on. Also, while going through my old stuff, I remembered how much I was obsessed with quilts. (I loved Ann of Green Gables and a film called How to Make an American Quilt when I was younger.) I'm looking forward to reading about your quilting project.
Oooh! Cyanotypes for a quilt sounds so beautiful! 🩵💙🤍 I love hearing about your fiddle building adventures too!

I’m never going to make it as a professional luthier 😭 But I’m looking forward to seeing what I can do with those embarrassing blocks!

I’ve caught quilt fever from my daughter, she makes one every Christmas! You would make a stunning one, that’s something I’d love to see ❤️

Thankyou so much Heather! Working with children is such a treat for me ❤️
